Understanding Target Audience
People who struggle with procrastination, lack of motivation, and difficulty concentrating.
Research shows that approximately 20% to 25% of adults experience procrastination in their daily lives, while the rate is as high as 70% among college students.
Research shows that between 2000 and 2020, the average human attention span decreased from 12 seconds to 8 seconds, which is lower than that of a goldfish, at 9 seconds.
Procrastination often leads to a decline in self-esteem and a reduced sense of self-efficacy, making individuals more likely to shrink from challenges.
Why does this matter ?
Research & Explanation
User Research
User Interview
To gain a deeper understanding of the success and failure factors of our target users, we interviewed three participants who had achieved their goals and three who had not, and conducted a comparative analysis of their experiences.
What I learned
Solving every small problem is key to groundbreaking innovations.
The schedule app may seem like it has many features, but there are still areas that can be improved and innovated
Before users plant flowers, we first prepare the soil.
The customization we offer to users is based on providing a solid foundational environment. Before users realize what this app can do, we can provide some references as guidance.

Which formed some key insights:
Achieved the goal successfully
Failed to stick to it for a week

A gradual increase in difficulty from simple tasks can more easily foster a positive cycle. When you see your own progress, you'll be motivated to continue improving.
Working towards a common goal with like-minded partners not only provides mutual encouragement but also allows us to learn from each other's experiences.

Seeing all my tasks checked off each day fills me with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, which motivates me to keep going.

The constant reminders to clock in make me feel overwhelmed. This high level of stress is making it difficult for me to keep up.

I often procrastinate until my tasks pile up. The sudden surge of stress makes me feel overwhelmed and eventually leads to me giving up.

I often overestimate my abilities and set unrealistic goals, which leads to missed deadlines and eventual abandonment of my tasks.

Many people have a problem with lacking motivation when it comes to executing tasks, which makes it difficult for them to persist.

A lot of people find it challenging to manage their time effectively and create a workable schedule.

Many people have a habit of procrastinating, and the closer they get to a deadline, the more anxious and frustrated they feel.
Nova

“At the very least, I want to be able to finish my tasks on time.”
Nova, an ambitious junior, struggles with procrastination and a heavy workload. Despite these challenges, she's determined to improve her time management skills and achieve her goals.
To start the day's schedule easily and efficiently complete pending tasks.
To develop a sustainable routine that allows me to start my day with ease
Healthy living habits and diet
I struggle to start tasks when my schedule is overwhelming.
My life quickly becomes chaotic when I don't maintain a to-do list.
Due to frequent failures, I've lost confidence in my ability to succeed.
GOALS
FRASTRATIONS
To better understand our target users, we've created a persona named Nova. By delving deep into Nova's needs, pain points, and behaviors, we can design a product that more closely aligns with their requirements.
Figuring out what to build
To start defining what my product should be and achieve, I needed to specify one main problem to solve for. Based on my primary persona's story, I set out a problem statement:
Nova has a heavy workload, both in her studies and her job. However, her execution is weak. She needs to cultivate her focus and the ability to execute tasks consistently in order to achieve her goals.
How might we create a solution that helps people improve focus and productivity, while ensuring they can maintain it over the long term?
This is an important problem that seriously impacts people's daily life , even harm people's mental health and came up in a lot of interviews and secondary research.
